The Version 4 Settings Screen

In version 4, the Settings screen is regrouped into tabs by task: Editing, Running, Insights, Library, Interface, and Advanced. Settings you already know are still there — they’re just organised by what they’re for, with group headings and clearer descriptions inside each tab.

What’s on each tab

  • Editing — snippet fields and the code editor.
  • Running — execution: flat-file storage, minification, whether new snippets start active.
  • Insights — performance tracking and security scanning. (Pro)
  • Library — snippet revisions (Pro), and connecting to Code Snippets Cloud.
  • Interface — the snippets list and the admin bar menu.
  • Advanced — role permissions (Pro), the version switcher, maintenance tools, complete uninstall, and the feedback reporter.

A tab only appears when there’s something to show on it, so your Settings screen shows only the tabs relevant to your edition and configuration.

Your settings are safe

Regrouping moved the settings on screen, not in the database. Saved values stay exactly where they were stored before the update, so nothing is lost when you update to version 4.

Where Cloud connection now lives

Connecting your site to Code Snippets Cloud is done from the Library tab: Connect to Cloud appears under the Cloud heading. To disconnect again, use the Disconnect button in the toolbar on the Snippets screen.

Available in Code Snippets 4.0 or later, in both the free and Pro versions. Insights settings, role permissions, and snippet revisions require Pro.
